There shall be no returning to the past
Howerver much a passer-by should wonder,
However long a day, however last,
In rage of oceans and in blissful thunder,
A beam of light shall glimpse however fast -
There will be no returning to the past.
There was an island,
Chants and screams and death -
A tourist site.
A king without a nation,
A church without a cross,
The holy mass
Of empty words within an empty mansion.
Not to the past my children shall return!
Eternity and prayers - both are timeless...
A burning soul will its surroundings burn!..
It is an ancient word indeed
That in the day of utter need
The hills shall freedom bring.
Great anthems shall be sung again
When shall return those who remain
The nation of the King!
